About the Role CareM Support, the corporate backbone of CareM's mission-driven healthcare services, is hiring a remote
Intake Coordinator based in Albuquerque. In this vital role, you'll help ensure smooth, compassionate onboarding for new patients across our network - especially during times when families need us most. This position follows a regular weekend schedule:
Friday 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Sunday 8:00 am to noon. If you're calm under pressure, detail-driven, and motivated by meaningful work, this is your opportunity to make a difference behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities - Answer inbound referral calls with professionalism and empathy
- Accurately collect and enter patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Verify insurance and referral documentation to support timely admissions
- Coordinate with clinical, sales, and field operations teams to initiate new services
- Follow established workflows for prioritizing referrals and triaging urgent needs
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and care partners
- Document and escalate any concerns, delays, or missing information
- Provide after-hours or weekend coverage as part of a shared remote rotation
Requirements
What We're Looking For - Previous experience in healthcare intake, scheduling, or customer service preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Comfortable with EMRs, phone systems, and multitasking in a remote setting
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Availability for the specified schedule: Friday 3-9pm, Saturday 8am-2pm, Sunday 8am-12pm
- Occasional holiday coverage
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare or admin training a plus
