Job Title: QC Chemist

Department : Quality Control

Reports To : [Insert Manager/Supervisor Name or Title]

Job Purpose/Summary

The purpose of this position is to support the Quality Control lab in the analysis of purified water, raw materials, finished products, and stability samples, ensuring that all laboratory activities are conducted according to industry standards and in compliance with cGMP regulations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sampling of raw materials and purified water for analysis.
  • Arranging retain samples for raw materials and finished products.
  • Performing daily analytical balance verification as required.
  • Calibration of pH meters and fluoride ion meters.
  • Preparation and standardization of volumetric solutions and test solutions.
  • Organizing chemicals in the lab and checking for expiration dates.
  • Managing quality control documentation.
  • Performing wet analysis on raw materials and finished products (e.g., Loss on Drying, Viscosity, pH, water content).
  • Chart replacement for temperature and humidity monitoring.
  • Conducting analysis using HPLC/UV-Visible spectrophotometer for raw materials, finished products, and stability samples.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Skills And Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience in a Quality Control laboratory setting.
  • A degree (BS or BA) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, or sufficient professional experience in lieu of a technical degree.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry cGMPs and quality system controls.
  • Experience with HPLC and analytical instruments is preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with the ability to manage shifting priorities and meet accelerated timelines.
  • Attention to detail and superior problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work independently with limited managerial oversight.

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle materials, and perform lab tasks.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
